I bought a Giant Reign X1 frame (2008) and have used my raceface seatpost with a shim but am intending to get a seatpost that actually fits. The more I look at seatposts the more confused I am becoming. would I need a set back or inline seatpost on the Reign? I am not sure what originally came on the bike.
What is your existing seat post?
Doesn't really matter if you get inline or set back. Maybe get a cheap inline one and a cheap set back one and try them out and then sell the one you don't want
It depends if you would prefer to sit further back or just straight up from where the seatpost goes in, that's the only difference I can think of. 🙂
thanks for the response. I have a race face evolve at the minute which is setback so have gone for a crank brothers cobalt 3 setback. Only problem is I have ended up buying a new set of bars to match. They're gonna look killer though.
