Interesting info, wonder what prompted the change? As for the sign, nothing like making things clear - "the public can still use the old bridleway route" vs. "walkers can use either route....". Is the implication they want cyclists to now use the walkers route, instead of the original (and undoubtedly still legal) bridleway?
