Where are you travelling from? Trains can get you there pretty early.

Very STW non-answer to your question, sorry!

Trains arent a starter, we'd like to overnight and wake up freshly invigorated... like daisys.... something like that.

I stay in Winchester regularly.

For what you want there are a couple of AirBnB's very central - one I stayed at was family home, the other was a flat I shared with colleague, both had somewhere behind a locked door or gate you could have locked a bike or three.

I have also stayed at the Uni halls once - lockable bike parking there. http://www.winchester.ac.uk/business/conference/accommodation/Pages/Self-CateringAccomodation.aspx

Other than that, I get put in the Premier Inn at the Airport as Winchester is so flipping expensive.
