If you're into your Scottish "non-trail centre" riding, you might want to have a look at a new site just launched by Scotways (Scottish Rights of Way Society). You can overlay old maps on Google Earth mapping and pick up some history while you're at it.

Thank's for the "heads up"! Ideal for a future project.
Huh, predictably if you search for "suitable for bikes" almost nothing comes up, the trail past bore stane in the pentlands is in here but apparently not for the likes of us. Still, if you ignore all that crap it looks pretty excellent- good link!
it doesn't differentiate MTB and road/hybrid bikes. In my experience most (probably all) of the paths Scotways list would be suitable for MTB use provided they are used sensibly and responsibly.Huh, predictably if you search for "suitable for bikes" almost nothing comes up, the trail past bore stane in the pentlands is in here but apparently not for the likes of us. Great link, thanks druidh. Couple of tasty looking paths not too far from me which I will explore

Err not quite - many require trials god status to ride.
Interesting link but loads missing / sites still in its infancy
