Not had this before.

I dropped into a pot hole on the way to work yesterday (Cambridgeshire is blessed with many of these).

And now the rear tyre no longer holds air.

Schwalbe G.allround, 40mm, about 6 months old.

Feeling around the bead, there's a spot where you can feel that it's just snapped. It holds air up to about 40psi, and then just lets go and all the air comes out.

I guess there's not much I can do about this apart from running with tubes?

And - what's good in the world of tubeless tyres these days?

I have a mtb tyre that I did this to. Applied generous super glue into the broken bit and then gorilla tape on the inside flush to the bead (had alcohol cleaned entire area first). Left to dry. Gently sanded back the super glue so didn't interfere with bead <> rim. Remounted being careful not to bend the glued bit too much....then added sealant. So far so good (10+ rides and given it a good smashing!)

(I did take it past 40 psi to check it was holding air but don't run it that high for mtb)

It's what I use too!

I reckon if you snapped the bead, you'd probably have pinch flatted a tube in there as well although at least that's easier to fix than a snapped bead!

Edit: did you ding the rim at all? I did that once years ago and the thing was never right with tubeless after that. Thankfully they were old wheels anyway and, once rebuilt onto new DT Swiss rims, they were spot on again.

Rim seems fine.

I put a Panaracer on there and it went up no problem and has stayed up long enough to get to work and back again.
