Its looking like we will be in the area next month, any routes worth a go?

Not Dalby Forest.
Anything up to 40 miles or less?
Gravel bike, not MTB.

Thanks.

There the old railway line from Scarborough to Whitby, about the right distance and great views?

Yes, the Cinder track. I did that about 10 years ago, but I will be doing it again as I remember great views and some nice café/locations etc. 🙂

I was up there about a month ago, took the Fugio with me - cinder track is fairly tame, mostly flat with some nice little draggy climbs - I also did the moor to coast route which touched the edge of Dalby forest, that was but there were three very interesting climbs😂

Oh aye, that’s the name of it

If you have a GPS you could find the moors and shores route from one of the past years. The route is in and around Dalby, but not the red route...canny distance too.

Did the Cinder Trail yesterday from Cloughton to Whitby and back - first time on a mountain bike (hardtail) in over a year. My body is aching this morning!

Not sure I'd describe it as flat! Sure it's a gentle gradient, but over 500m of climbing done yesterday. Defintely suitable for a gravel bike though.
The tea rooms at Ravenscar are great too, nice homemade cakes, plenty of ouside seating to enjoy the sun.

Oh, and fish + chips on the seafront in Whitby. It'd have been rude not to 🙂

Sorry, when I meant flat I was talking in the comparison to the two stinking 20% climbs I did on that moor-to-sea ride 😂 I liked Ravenscar, the little visitors centre was also a nice little spot to stop at - making me want to go back now !
