I generally do not drive much (cycle/train to work etc) and have an old MR2 for doing some cheap motorsport.

But thought it would be nice to be able to drive out to new places once in a while, so bought a Saris Solo Bike Rack.

Fits on the MR2 fine, though with my garden gate frame and 29er wheels, I need to take the front wheel out as it touches the ground - works fine for my road bike though as that has horizontal TT

holds the bike in a very stable form even at speed.

Did add two 'insurance' straps as well.

Hi there

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but, where are your 2 extra "insurance" straps? I'm struggling to see them on the pictures

Cheers

you'll get pulled and given points by the Police with that set up - the number plate won't be lit at night and your indicators / brake lights are partly obscured.
