Hi,

Interested in the Santa Cruz Bronson. I am 5'10 and seem to be between sizes.

To those with Bronson, what height are you, and what frame size do you have?

Hoping to visit 18 Bikes in Hope to try their medium for size.

Ta

5 - 11 here and just bought a large. The medium was too short in the top tube for me.

5'11" here too, and same - went for the large and popped a 50mm stem on. Feels bang on.

6'1" and got an xl, perfect for me, so I'd suggest L. A demo is critical I think.

Should be easy enough to demo, on the borderline stuff it really depends on the arm/torso/leg ratio so height is not the biggest factor.

Large, without a doubt.

My wife is 5'8" and thought the medium was tiny. Even the large isn't a very 'big' bike (comparable to most mediums).

Agree with hob nob definitely large as they come up fairly small.

I'm 5,9 and according to SC website, would need a medium. However I wasnt sure and was in the fortunate position of being able to demo a medium and large back to back.

Medium was miles too small for me. Went for a large with a 50mm stem.

For the money your spending, throw a leg over one. you dont want to get it wrong, as Mike says, height is not the only governing factor.

Great bike too.

im 6ft just under/there abouts

had a quick spin on a mates medium and it comes up small, theres no way id be on a medium though at just under 6ft, not sure on the large either as ive heard they all come up small.... but id defo test one if you can

had a sit on a nomad in medium and that felt much bigger sizing wise, so the new nomad must be slightly different design to the Bronson size wise (not sure if this is across the whole range mind, but seemed to vary massively from model to model ive sat on)

As a mate of mine with a nomad puts it, the bronson feels like a BMX after riding the nomad. It's a longer top tube than the bronson but only so much that a large feels at the upper-end of what I'd go for (and realistically would likely go medium on it just to keep it a bit more chuckable), whereas on the bronson & 5010, a large is spot-on.

The Nomad is similar in TT length, but has a bigger reach. It's still not a big bike, but it's now more normal (or slightly on the larger side of normal) than they historically (and other SC's) have been.

Demo to be sure but my advice with them is go large.

GF demo'd a medium (she's 5'6.smidge) and it fitted almost perfectly.

I've been on a medium Blur TRc for a while, it has very similar geo to a 5010, which is itself similar to a Bronson I think (bit of a stretch I know) ๐Ÿ˜€ A medium always felt very BMX-like, very easy to throw your weight around, but it also made for some hairy moments towards the end of long rides, a weekend in North Wales made for some near OTB moments during the final descent at Penmachno!

For that reason I've gone for a large frame on my new bike (5010), I figure these days it's easy to get a 30mm stem (if you need that short) so you've got quite a lot of wiggle room if you're between sizes.

Large sounds like the likely culprit, but worth trying some bikes for size. Pop down and sit on our Medium Bronson by all means, but I think my Large Solo will give a better idea. It's at the shop (18 Bikes) at the mo, so that might work to try both for size.

I'm 5'8" and ride the medium. It feels fine. I've also ridden a small solo and it also felt fine.

Best thing to do is get a test ride.
