Which one takes a regular rear wheel?
Which one is more compliant?
Which one is cheaper to buy?
Which one would you choose for a half-fat bike?

Get the one that is closest in A-C length to the fork it replaces.

I have just removed an Enabler from my Pug and put a Pug fork back on it. With the Enabler I was getting squirming under heavy braking and also a greater tendency to get the wobbles in ruts.

You could go the DIY route - I think the best handling came from the homemade fork.

epi, I can't as there's no fork to bodge anything from here. And the one I have actually gets used.

Your local bike shop probably chucks out a dead fork at least weekly. Try talking to them.

I had thought about this too but Im not sure on the size of a Larry compared to a 29er wheel as my karate monkey would suit the salsa fork better if the wheels are the same but I'm not sure they are

epi, my LBS is proud to sell Land Rover hybrids ๐Ÿ™‚
BTW There isn't a shop that even considers stocking MTB gear anywhere near as cycling for most of the Irish seems to mean road racing. Besides, with CRC being only 2 hrs drive away from here shops struggle to compete.
