So I've just read that Enve are moving their UK distro from Saddleback to Enve's European distribution partner based in Paris

https://cyclingindustry.news/enve-switches-and-consolidates-uk-and-eu-distribution/

So I'm guessing that means the price of Enve wheels and bars etc... in the UK will rise in price due to import charges etc... shops/buyers will incur when ordering

The VAT and import duty still apply, they'll just be paid at a different point. It may be that the new importer plans to take care of that side of things for UK customers.

Also, they'll not have Saddleback taking their cut...

They had vat/import duty on before. I had pretty good service from saddleback with the very rare Enve issue. But I've also imported Enve parts directly too.

I'm still on 10 years old M50s - ace wheels. Couldn't justify them today.

I think the bigger issue could be like with Gore (And also the likes of DJI) - when you return stuff it's going via the EU which is just one big extra headache.

Saddleback are great to deal with but some of their UK prices are horrifically high compared to US pricing.  Chris King hubs are a great example.  In the US a Ceramic R45D hub is $410 (£320) at retail.  Sadddleback is £520-£570.  Even with VAT and duty, is should be less than £400.  It along with a whole hose of other CK parts are around 20-30% more expensive than they should be.  Why?

And as sure as the changing of the tides, Enve stock is now on Merlin at a rather substantial discount. Sort of a PSA if anyone is feeling flush, as it's still expensive!
