Back in the day (mid 90s) Finish Line sold lube in little sachets (imagine the image below, but containing something you don't want on a plate of bubble). You could chuck 'em in a saddlebag and know that if your chain ever started getting a bit noisy you could sort it out.
Can't seem to find them anymore. Does anyone still make anything similar?

you know the little fish-bottles of soy sauce you get with supermarket sushi?
I fill those up with lube for just such an occurrence.

A tube of that Fox lube would help you out of a spot I guess but as hh up there suggested, I have small dropper bottle I carry on big days
Squirt lube do a tester bottle just the right size for keeping in your pack (bit bigger thana sachet tho) And it is rather good for your chain.
white lightning do tiny bottles of lube which a perfect for this.

I have pink teflon grease in syringes for getting into headsets etc neatly. Quite often bung one into saddle bag if I'm away for a weekend
An oily, empty lube sachet sounds like the kind of thing that would "accidentally" get left behind after a stop. Bit tricky to know what to do with, unless you carry a little sandwich bag as well for the empties.
Much better to have a little bottle with a little lid, I reckon.
The smallest size Finish-Line bottle works for me, just keep it 25% full if you're worried about the weight... 😉
