Can the travel on recon gold to 29er forks be altered from 100mm to 120mm?

I'm pretty sure you just remove the two spacers above the top out bumper.
Spec on the SRAM website does state:
120mm travel requires 15mm Maxle and tapered steerer only

Thanks for that. The forks have 100mm travel and although the head tube is tapered I'd need to check whether the forks themselves are

I've got a set of xc32 solo air on my hardtail. Just changed them from 100 to 120mm travel by removing the spacers. It is a straight steerer QR fork. Pretty darn sure your recon will convert to 120mm.
Search for the "Solo Air Service Manual" on the rockshox website. It covers the Sektor/Recon/XC32 and shows u how to change the travel.
