Ok. I'm running 2003 MX COmp ETA at the mo on my 456. Was thinking of getting some new forks and like the look of the RS Reba Race.

What would be the advantages of these over the old MX Comps?

Whats the difference between the race's and the sl's in the Reba's??

Ultimately, is it worth it?

I used to have an 03 MX comp which was nice and smooth, but quite untunable (especially rebound) compared to a dual air reba. The REBA was better on the small stuff and IMO is a better performer but maybe not as hardy.

Not sure about the difference between the Race and the SL. The RS website used to have a good comparison though.

Worth it? Yes IMO

Just changed my 04 mx comps for 08 Reba race. So far, impressed, and haven't even started fine tuning yet. They are a smidge longer axle-crown, and have a lot more adjustment. The rebound damping is very useful and they 'feel' like a better fork in use, can't put my finger on why just yet.

Anyone want some v cheap mx comps?

The mx comp is a basic fork and hasn't changed that much internally over the years. I'd describe them as adequate performers. The ETAs however, I believe run an air spring in one leg and coil in the other. They perform a lot better. Although rebound adjustability is not so good. I've just acquired a new set on one of my bikes opting for them due to their reliability. As somebody has already mentioned the rs forks have better small bump sensitivity and clever valving. On a 456 I found the best fork length to run on my re forks was about 115mm.

Also rs are stiffer due to bigger stanchions.
