Left my bike in the back of the car the other day to come back and find latex everywhere, as the tire had exploded off the rim. Tried to reflate and exactly the same thing has happened. The wheel is a Roval Traversee, and the tyre a virtually brand-new NN 2.25" UST, with no sign of damage on either. Can anyone explain???
I had a nobby nick that explodewd off the rim
When I had a proper look at it, the carcass was deformed with a big sideways bulge at one point
No idea, it's usually pretty hard work getting the tyres off my traversees.
I've had this happen on a DTswiss 5.1 with a NN - incredibly tight fit on the rim. Opened the door to the workshop one morning and it was hanging off with latex everywhere. The tyre was bolloxed after that - Couldn't see what was wrong with it but it wouldn't seat again. Maybe the bead got a small break in it or something.
the bead can stretch on them so they blow, I've had a ralph and a nic go the same way, although they are great tyres they do seem to have this slight issue now n then, escpecially if you stans them!
There is an issue with Schwalbe UST tyres snapping their bead and blowing off the rim. Contact the shop where you bought them and you may well get a replacement warranty tyre.
