Greetings from a noob.
Heading to centerparcs nr Penrith with family next week and looking for some routes. Quick googling didn't show anything up, so grateful for any suggestions. Looking for XC (far too old/chicken for downhill). Ideally 20-40km although anything considered. Thx.

You could pick up High Street from Penrith and ride it all the way to Troutbeck, into Windermere from there and train back to Penrith via Oxenholme

Belated thanks @qwerty. Didn't get time away as it turned out, but made up for by seeing kids enthusiastic about cycling everywhere. Oh, and justifying a nice long ride round Glentress when we got back with coffee & cake at the hub to finish 🙂
