Off to St Ives area for New Year with mates and thinking of taking the bike. Can anyone recommend some routes round that way?

If not it's just the 1:50K and follow my nose!
Ta.

lou, if you have a nose on www.cornwallmtb.kk5.org and post in the shout box then you may get some takers for a ride,
the coast to coast trail that starts at portreath and heads over to devoran is only 11 miles long and rides through poldice and bissoe valley, Some awsome tracks around there!! some good tracks in idless woods truro, and some good uns hidden in tehidy too (just up from portreath, on the edge of illogan), would happily show you around there if the wifes home to look after the littlun!
is also The Bike Barn bike shop on the portreath to porthtowan road, well worth a stop and natter to the boys, lapierre, cubes, ragley ands a few otrhers, bike chain/ricci isnt far either in redruth, has a good range of kit and bikes but a bit pricey unles you haggle ๐Ÿ˜‰ and hayle cycles is another good shop for a nose in hayle (kinda name of the shop gives that away hey!!),
there are some routes down on the lizard area but not really explored them,

lou p

I went riding down that way a few weeks back, a mate is looking at getting a zesty, and he got a demo from 'the bike barn' although cheeky, as Timmo said the ride from the bike barn, (good shop / helpful) heading east along the coastal path around the beacon and back is good, little bit technical in places, lots of mine waste heaps to explore with a stunning backdrop of the coastal path.

As I am back down there for xmas I will be doing a boxing day tootle along there.

Def worth taking the bike.

Cool thanks guys, I'll check it all out on the map and might pop in to the Bike Barn when we're down there... Bike's definitely going on holiday as well then ๐Ÿ˜†

Merry Christmas!
