which allows you to use a "standard" roof rack with fitting for road bike forks with a MTB with FOX QR15 thru-axle front fork?
I would make one, but this seems rather elegant.

You can get them from Chain reaction, or at least that's where I got mine from, It's not cheap though £30-40 from memory.
if it helps... I got the brass bushes on my Rhino racks drilled out (on a mates lathe) to take the 15mm axle. Been working great ever since. I wrapped the old q/are mount tightly in insulating tape until it fitted in case I need to carry a q/are bike.
