I've got the revs and my mate has got F120 FITs (very similar to the floats). He reckons that my revs are better to ride - plusher and more controlled. I am pretty sure they are a lot stiffer too. Also easier to service, and bit more subtle to look at too.

Rev Team is a smashing fork. Only ridden Fox briefly but didn't feel better in any way.

If the Rev is cheaper then it's an easy choice I reckon.

I've also read somewhere that the black box damping does not make a massive difference

I have a set of Revelation team maxle lite,Air u-turn 2010 150mm.

These are by far the best trail fork i have used, they are excellent, smooth as silk, lots of adjustments.Stiff and very light.

Think the revs just won a trail fork shootout in a magazine in the states.

any pics of the white team ones in 'action'? ๐Ÿ™‚ ive told him about the fox's with there ridiculous service every 30hrs riding, and it has put him off slightly if it voids the warranty etc.....the revs seem to have non of that hassle.....

Not in absolute terms maybe, especially if you don't ride over a lot of bumps, but it's well worth the extra money IMO.

It is really really good.

Yes, mine are the team maxle lites, but they're the u-turns. They're a fair bit stiffer than my similar qr reba teams. This is the best pic of them that I've got to hand. I really rate them.

I've had both 2010 Revelation team (on a blur lt2 and mojo SL) and 150 FIT (on my LTC) - my GF still has some rev team's on her LT2

I could have chose any forks for my new winter bike build (2010 p7) but decided on some 2010 Fox talas FIT. I could have saved some cash and gone for the Rockshox but after running the float 150 for the past 3 months I much prefer the 15qr system and I prefer the feel of the fox especially on bigger hits - ie doesn't bottom out like the RS seemed to but retains a nice feel over smaller bumps.

Plus - in 5 years of owning fox forks I've never bothered with stripping them down every 15/30 hrs I just make sure the stancions are clean - put the bike upside down before a ride to load fluid on the wiper seals and every few rides lube with Teflon. Never had any problems.

Cheers Didzy. Not heard about the issue with pro2s. I'm surprised. No issue with my rovals.

Its not the Maxle that was the issue. From what I can see the trouble was lateral float in the hub when clamped up, casued by undersized bearing thickness or hub machining tolerances.

for what its worth, My new maxle light revs with pro2 are perfect.

Maxle light 2010 Revs to Pro2 here no issues at all perfect. Just waiting for them to come back from Fisher's for a blowing through travel issue ๐Ÿ˜•

I use my Rev Team maxles with Hope 2s as it happens and they work fine. I think it was a QC issue that Hope sorted out reasonably quick once it became obvious.

I don't think there's an awful lot to choose between them myself, maxle lite is lighter than 15mm QR as well as stiffer (which makes a total mockery of the whole stupid 15mm standard) but the performance is very close. Sometimes the Rev feels like it's using its travel slightly too easily but then it also feels nicer over smaller chattering bumps so that's a fair tradeoff.

Oh, Blackbox is noticably better to Motion Control- Moco is perfectly good and adequate but Blackbox is just that little bit better and that adds up to just feeling more planted and controlled all the time, where my older Moco revs sometimes feel like they're soaking up the hits but that's it. But then, if the price difference is enough then Push'd Race Revs apparently compare with Team Revs.

I've just bought a set of Revelation Races.

Superb, they're extremely light but feel plenty stiff.

If that is the case why would someone not spend the extra tenner for the u-turn?

...or is it all about the white fork? 8)

I never use the U-turn so I am not going to pay extra for it ๐Ÿ™‚

i think weight as well, think the uturns are a bit heavier, and also alot of trail bike dont really need to be wound down to climb.....not in my experience anyhoo's.....but for 10quid extra its a bargain, though another thing to go wrong ๐Ÿ™‚

I Splashed out on the team dual air after a week of twoing and froing between all the combinations .
Didnt want too many things to adjust and really just pumped air in for a 15 stone rider I am over that at the mo and they are just the best forks I have ever owned and far stiffer than the Pace were
Might need to let a bit of pressure out when I have a couple more rides on them .

also on Hope pro2 and no issues as yet

Swapped from Pushed Pikes to Rev teams (u turn) great fork, near as dammit as stiff as a pike but 3/4lbs lighter.

I do use the u turn as I did on my pikes.

The black box damping does make a big difference on high speed repeated bumps, such as peak and lake district drops.

I also had some team Rebas on my Cotic Soul and they also had BB damping.

A fork with a good damping system for all occasions is far more important than a little bit of extra travel or slightly lower weight IMO.
