Anyone know whether you can convert 2011-12 recon golds or rebas up to 120 by removing/moving spacers etc. Not expecting a clear answer on this as all the other threads I've read on the subject have been contradictory. As an aside, are sectors ridiculously heavy if I end up having to go with them?

Me again!

Only got experience of Rebas, most can be converted. Just need to be careful with ones labeled Race as these use Sid components. SL, RL, and RLT are good for 120 as far as I know. If in doubt check the technical docs on the SRAM website. There's loads of info there.

As for converting lengths it's a pretty easy job. Takes no more than half an hour, just take your time and use the correct tools. There is a lot of good info out there to follow.

Check the SRAM service manual, it tells you how to do this and has diagrams.

The travel on my Recon's (2011 Recon Gold) is adjusted with the amount of PSI / rider weight as per chart on the fork leg

lucien - that's sag your adjusting with the air pressure, sag being the static resting position of the fork.

Travel is limited by adding and removing internal spacers.

THE ONLY way to find out for sure is to open them up and have a look. End of story. ๐Ÿ™‚
