Iñaki Lejarreta ha fallecido esta mañana atropellado por un automóvil en la carretera nacional 634 a la altura del municipio vizcaino de Iurreta.

Iñaki Lejarreta was knocked over on the 634 road and died this morning.

A great loss.

Iñaki Lejarreta Errasti (September 1, 1983 – December 16, 2012) was a Spanish Olympic mountain biker. He was a junior world champion in 2001, and national mountain bike champion in 2007. He competed in the cross-country cycling at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, and was professionally part of the Orbea cycling team. In 2012, Lejarreta was killed in a training accident when his cycle was struck by a car. He was 29.
