After some scrotes broke into my Grandparent's garage and nicked my bikes the insurance company (Hastings) have been awesome about offering me cash for the custom bikes I built, more than the receipts I sent them totalled up to, I am looking to add a cheap Hardtail to my stable. I've seen this one, http://www.decathlon.co.uk/rockrider-560-mountain-bike-275-id_8336092.html, and as a simple roadie and Cylclocrosser it looks good to me, but any comments would be gratefully accepted!

It's got "hydraulic forks" what's not to like!
On a serious note, I had an entry rockhopper 12 years-ish ago - for the money it was good value and I put many, many km's into it. However a base inbred was a significant step up...
