I've decided to give my 2007 Revs a service. I've printed the service manual off Rock Shox website for the 05/06 version. I'm assuming it's the same as mine as they don't seem to have any later versions.

I must be missing something because the manual says to loosen right and left shaft bolts with a hex key. There is only one hex bolt. the other leg has a nut around the air valve.

Anyway, I've loosened both. The shaft nut just past the end and tapped it free off it's press fit. As the manual says.

The legs and stantions should now pull apart but something stops it dead.
(yes I have taken the bolt and nut off)

What numpty thing am I doing wrong. Not pulling hard enough?

Thanks.

make sure you've tapped the press fits right out and pull firmly 😉

Press 'fits'
Is it just the valve side (it's totally loose)
Or both. The manual says no. 🙂

I may have to get the local kids to use it as part of their rope swing.
That should free it. 😀

You have freed off both legs I take it? Should pull apart with a sharp tug fairly easily....

both sides are press fit, put the black hollow bolt in the damper side and give it a tap with a rubber mallet

Waaay. Done it after tapping the other side like you said. Piece of piss.
Cheers guys. I knew you'd come up trumps.

Obviously a poor manual. 🙂
