I'm just about to order some schwable cx comps for mine.

No intention of cross racing but would like to be able to access some muddy tow paths to mix up my winter commute.

Ran mine as one for about 9 months, and it seemed to do the job. It survived some runs around the Peak and plenty on my local trails, and I raced it a dozen or so times and it didn't seem to hold me back. I think when the made the Cotic x they made it a little slacker. Change of job made it a dedicated road commuting machine again.
