Right I've just collected my lovely new carbon road bike ( I daren't even say what it is because that will only distract you from my questions) it's an 'upgrade' to my previous one (which I'll still use to commute/tour on)and I need to get myself all the 'add-ons':

saddle bag sorted - going for a Topeak mini clip on one so I can interchange with the other bike and use my bigger existing bag for big days out

bottle cages - can't decide between elite custom racing (black)

or tacx tao (the smaller all black one in the pic)

...don't want to spend alot on carbon ones, but still want nice looking and non-rattly ones, anybody any experience of either?

mini-pump - to go in my jersey pocket, rather than on the bike, need only be for presta valves, size (the smaller the better ๐Ÿ˜ ) and function are key...any recommendations??

What was going to be a short post has ended up being quite long and taken me a while, I hope I get some responses!

Cheers.

Specialized cages - look good and work even off road. Don't seem alrmingly heavy.

Pump - Blackburn or Topeak Road Morph if you've a pump pocket and don't mind a little extra bulk. All the really tiny ones break on me when I least need it. CO2 rocks if you have one of those combo crap pump/trigger release co2 so you can seat the tyre witht he pump then blow it up with gas.

I use a planet x mini pump that will take a CO2 inflator. Fits in my saddle bag as it's tiny. Otherwise topeak pocket rocket which is a bit longer but still goes in my jersey ok.

As for bottle cages I have the Elite ones. They are good, designed for mtbikes so hold the bottle secure with no rattling and I assume are reasonably tougn. Light too and match my bike quite well.

Cheers guys, I've been on my lunch break but I'm back at my desk now ๐Ÿ™‚

To 'answer your answers':

Cheers for the link chalkstorm but even at that price I don't think I want carbon cages as the weave pattern will 'clash' with the larger weave on my bike (God I sound like Cok Wan)...

Those elite cages look good on your bike mr sugars, anybody got a pic of a bike with the tacx taos on?

Will now spend the afternoon investigating your pump suggestions, esp. the Planet X CO2 combo...

I'm rushed off my feet here... 8)
