Need a low stack height stem to sort out a short steerer problem. Could I use this? FSA Is the bar clamp the right size? Would it be string enough? Would I die/need reconstructive dentistry?

How about this I know its dearer but iirc it's warranted for xc riding.

Road bars are oversized (31.8mm). You'd have to buy a shim to fit a standard MTB bar (i think).
