Got a few days working in Sittingbourne and rather than suffer the delights of the Premier Inn on the A249 for too long I have the roadie in the car and I'm planning to head South and cross the M2 and go for a pedal around the lanes. Prob between 20-30 miles, any particularly good bits to recommend or conversely shocking bits of tarmac to avoid? Ta!

The lanes around Borden and down towards Hucking are quite quiet. Some nice little hills. My route home from work is Oad Street - Stiff Street - Deans Bottom - South Green - Cold Blow Lane. From the bottom of Cold Blow Lane - you could ride left along Pilgrims Way and back up Broad St Hill towards Hucking.
Some nice riding, with not too much traffic. Hollingbourne Hill is a popular climb, but I tend to stay off it due to the amount of traffic on it.

EDIT: - If it's wet, some of the roads around there can get quite muddy, due to farm traffic, but are ok in the dry.

Spend many years living there before I escaped. I'll do some stuff for you tonight when I'm on a laptop not a phone ๐Ÿ™‚

Did 20 pleasant miles around the lanes last night, very picturesque is was too. Risk of a head-on seemed almost constant though! Shame it's due to rain later
