Can any of you chaps up north tell me what the roads are like at the moment, especailly out in the sticks?
No snow at all down south here in Hexham, and the roads are dry. I'm itching to get out on the new road bike and wondering about a ride up to Bellingham and Otterburn tonight, but don't really fancy riding on ice on 25c slick tyres...
99.9% bone dry, white and salty as far as Cambo yesterday. The odd frozen or slushy field run off to watch I out for but otherwise good bar the epic headwinds.
i think Bellingham / otterburn has a bit (according to the kielder trail reavers forum). not sure I'd venture that far north or high...
Cheers. Might head back from Bellingham through Redesmouth then, and try and avoid the exposed higher bits.
Beats the turbo-trainer...
