Thinking about gravelerizing my old Soda as I barely use it having made the jump to a new Soul. I can get a 650x47 Gravel King SK in the back with loads of room, so I'm thinking about fitting a set of rigid forks too. Slightly sad thing to do, but better than leaving the bike hanging in the cellar unridden,

So - fork recommendations? I'd be after a longish 26" or shorter 650b (I have a 120mm Reba at the mo), 1 1/8" straight steerer, and would very much like bolt through. I've found the Carbon Cycles/Exotic ones, which I think have an OK rep, and there's loads on ebay, which I trust rather less.

Cheers,

Jon

I'm selling some Carbon Cycles / Exotic ones if you are interested. The length is equivalent to a 130mm fork on a 26" bike. Very good condition, mainly ridden on the road.

£55 posted. PM me if your interested

Recently bought a pair of the Tooseek carbon ones from China / ebay, for my SS CX / gravel bike - got a 20% coupon and they arrived in a week for £56. I've had / got rigid forks from Pace RC31, Exotic plus others - these are superior, lighter and have a good blend or stiffness / give.  Don't kid yourself that 'branded' forks are any better - they are often made in the same factories but treble in price by the time they get to the UK.

Hi,

I've got a reply from you in the inbox, but can't actually read it. Do you know what the axle to crown measurement is?

Can you mail me joneATfisherproductionsDOTcoDOTuk?

Cheers

Erm, cheers_drive, I'm sure that you'll sort something out with JonEdwards for those forks, but if for whatever reason they turn out to be unsuitable for him then i might be interested - not trying to hijack the sale or anything.

Been debating getting some exotic forks for my Inbred, but heard that the new ones use the same crown for tapered or straight steerers, so with a straight steerer you end up with an ugly flange at the crown that sticks out from the frame......and no one wants an ugly flange!

Purely from a aesthetic point of view, but I generally think the monocoque construction forks look better than the ones that look like the above, which to me look like suspension forks with carbon legs.

Not commenting on function here, on form only. don't actually know if the price varies, I'm presuming it does
