just discovered that mines knackered (lasted 9 months 🙁 )
it ws one of those fancy black ones but i can only seem to get this as a set. Where can i get good quality inners?

Define quality. I used to always swear by Shimano PTFE coated pre-stretched cables, but had to buy cheap Clarks inner cable once on a MTB weekend, and you know what.....it turned out to be every bit as good as the Shimano cable in every way, and about a third of the cost, so just used Clarks cable since, readily available from Halfords, dirt cheap, and just works.
