Well, it's nearly time for my use it or loose it weeks holiday, so Pugsley and beach it is. Question: I've only rode on sand Bream to Highbridge and back, would it be a good idea to fit flat pedals, or was my not being able to clip in oddly connected to the wrong type of sand?
I remember riding a hybrid on sand.completely unsuitable,as it had 25mm pumped up to 100psi,but there was a bit of sand, just wet/dry enough to not sink in.tried it with both spds and flats as I had those double sided pedals.clipped in I had a bit of a chance as the pedal stroke was smoother.
Probably not much help at all,but hey.
Clipped in is fine on sand, no probs at all, i ride flats cause of the slimey rock sections between our beaches, and also because i ride flats everywhere now, found that 5;10s grip those rocks a lot better too when you have to foot/ walk it ๐
Oh, dry lube on the chain too ๐
Squirt is ace for riding sandy conditions,
Yes, thanks Coastkid, I'll probably take both, I fell off quite impresively in front of fishermen trying to get clipped in and hitting soft sand when not actually looking where I was going........
