Good afternoon people,

I'm up in Perth this weekend visiting a friend. They live on the hill just north of the river. My friend has yet to investigate the local riding as he is new to the area. Can you give me some pointers/routes that we could try this weekend?

Thankyou for your help.

You could be doing Glen Tilt with me the weekend after, if you weren't sneaking off to the alps 😉

There is some stuff around Kinnoull, Deuchny, bits round Craigie Hill etc but Dunkeld and its delights will be around 15 miles away.

So a drive to Dunkeld will be the best? We could manage that. Is it easy to find your way around? We can get there and go exploring if we are likely to find stuff. I believe there is a monster DH hidden in there?

Neil - If you asked before acting then I would have been around. You could have moved your booking, probably still can. 😉

TJ - If you send it to Neil he might get it into a format I can use as I don't have any GPS malarky. Thanks for the help 🙂

Some downhill bits and decent routes on Ducany? Hill in Perth, up road past hospital to car park, follow fireroad opposite end of car park to entrance, round hairpin bend and to top of hill, next fireroad junction turn right (caution cyclists sign) you will see start of short official DH run (not hard) on rhs with other tracks coming down from lhs
Loads more around too, easy to explore or google it

+1 Comrie croft only short but multiple laps are fun

Carron valley not that far away

Pittmeden forest

You could do Glen Garr, Bankfoot-Birnam-Hermitage-Rumbling Bridge-Glen Garr-Bankfoot.

Soory, just being lazy. The route is out of Kenny Wilsons book but I think I did it after seeing it in a magazine. It's a good route though and more fun than the stuff North of Dunkeld.

Dunkeld has 3 dh tracks all steep and rocky and a must do if in that area, they also have uplifts on now a days.
