My wife is doing the Ironman there in October. I’m thinking of taking either the road or MTB to kill some time while she is faffing (if anyone has ever met a long distance triathlete, they love to faff).

The question is road or MTB? Can’t find much online in the way of trails, roads seem to be alright around there, has anyone been and can offer advice?

I did find https://www.funbikescalella.com/ who do tours, but not sure what they will be like

For road it's a bit sparse around Callela and you have to get across the coast road (not a major problem as the drivers are really quite good around bikes). The best road section is from Tossa del Mar to St Feliu (train to Blanes with the bike and head off along the coast).

The town is typical Costa stuff with loads of English/International pubs and bars. I didn't enjoy it in late April last year. Gras Bikes is a decent shop and helped out with some fettling on day 3 of our Tour d'Haribo.
