Looks really good value for money - £2400 for a carbon frame / GX Eagle / lyriks / guide re brakes / e1700 DT wheels / good spec tyres / super deluxe shock etc. I’d have been very tempted with that if it had been around when I got my Aeris - I paid similar money for a Yari / e1900 wheels / GX 11 speed (GX Eagle wasn’t launched then in fairness) / deluxe shock / guide r.
Can you test ride the Vitus / what’s backup support like? That’s the things that Bird are really good at - since I bought my bike you can just ring up and speak in person to Ben or Dan and that invaluable IMO.
There are occasional demo days but only a few per year, and any customer service would go through CRC.
I have a carbon Vitus race bike, and when I thought I had an issue with the frame - a “dimple” in the lacquer which I was nervous of as a fault - Crc collected, inspected and returned the bike for free, and issued a warranty update in writing should there be a failure at that point (there hasn’t been).
All of that in 8 days, I thought that was pretty good service.
For a bike with carbon frame, carbon cranks and a good spec, the quoted weight at 31.3lbs seems on the heavy side.
