I have a winter road bike but not getting on with the geometry which is too high at the front - I'm after something more similar to my summer bike and a more aggressive position - there are some steep hills on my regular routes!

I hear the ally winter frame is very good and I also like the look of the Reynolds 525 steel frame.

Anyone got any experience of either?

If I hadn't already got a winter steel I would be building the 525 as I type. A mate has the ally one and it keeps making an appearance winter after winter without fuss.

Edit... An image pulled from the net and imo it looks the nuts.

i have a ribble but have rebadged it a Teribble. Keep it real keep it steel is my mantra for this winter. that and the cx boardman will see me through. the Teribble is reduced to the stand in commute. We have plenty of passes to tackle but the Teribble will remain a stand in for the Steelies and cx.

I've got one, an ally one, with the carbon fork.. To be fair, for the £100ish I paid for it, you can't go wrong..
It's fully mudguard up, and with a mix of 105/ Sora, you can't go wrong for a winter 'hack' IMHO.

It'll never set yer heart on fire, but it does what it says on the tin.
