What is required? Ordering one this week i dont think i need the 420 mm length one, just depends on what RS recommend you have in the frame?

Really should have 100mm in the frame, I believe my reverb states less, but your frame manufacturer will have a different rating, its more likely that the force will crack your frame than the post.

always buy the long one - better for your frame and a short one may not fit your next frame and will have better 2nd hand value.

That said the 380mm one they do is pretty long, its a good compromise as long as you have lots of post on there.

There was a thread recently where a chap snapped his frame from too little post...

go with whatever is the max of frame mfr and reverb (think they say 80mm, actually). I went with 420mm originally, but since almost all of it would have been in my frame, the 360 was ample and is lighter. Assuming you're going to have it for a couple o years or three, I'd get the one that fits, rather than looking to what may fit your next bike. They'll have improved by then anyway.....

Yeah even with the shorter one most of it and more than 100 is in the frame, and it'll be a bit lighter too, right now do i go and add to cart orshall i wait till my birthday next tuesday to see if the wife has picked up on my hints? 😆
