I want some air forks for my Scott scale 80.
I have seen some Revelation 409 100-130 air forks for sale at a good price. I really am on a budget so cannot afford any rebas or sids but want air forks because i really do think they ride nicer.
I will obvioously be setting them at the 100mm travel but thought they would be handy if i changed bikes (thinking about an on-one longer travel frame).
They arent as light as the rebas or sid especially but they arent too bad at 1800g so am i nuts at putting these on? i have read that they are very reliable etc so it would be good for me in that aspect.
20mm isnt going to kill it. Couldnt you run a bit more sag if it feels funny.
They'll be fine, particularly at 100mm.
I ran my maxlight xc-pro2 designed for 105mm travel at 115mm for two and a half years. It was great, climbed just as good, handled just as good then one day...
it all felt a bit wobbly...
...but there again I was giving it a serious ragging round the trail centres and it did go to a rigid fork before it broke.
