I am looking for someone who is technically minded who can replace the battery in my Garmin 305 Edge. It currently wont last more than 60 mins before it turns off.
Anyone up for the job.
Garmin do it i believe
I cant seem to find anywhere on there site where they deal with things like replacing batteries.
Hi - recently replaced the battery in my Garmin 705 as it too was only lasting 1 hour. I googled & bought 1 (2 actually) from China or somewhere similar.
On youtube there is an excellent film showing how to do it.
There are several films on there and one I am sure for a 303. The only bit of specialist kit was a small torx screwdriver - and it now works perfectly....

You can get the batteries on Amazon or Ebay.
I tried, and failed (and I'm fairly competent with a soldering iron) but the tab on the USB board burnt off, the first company sent the wrong battery, so I had to do it twice and the pad wasn't upto it the 2nd time.
E-mail garmin customer services, they do it for about £70. Infact I don't think they do, I think they just send you a new old stock one or they're certainly refurbished well beyond just a new battery!
In fact might send off my old 205, its much better than my new 500....

Interesting. I've just replaced my 305 Edge with the 500.
So I'll be selling the 305 soon. I'm getting along just fine with the 500.
