Well the insurance money for my nicked bikes has come in so I can start putting together another Soul build to replace the one which the kind people removed from my garage.

I got a quote from Keswick Bikes and they suggested I might go SRAM 2x10 (my last one was XT 3x9). This isn't something I had ever considered and I'm really not sure of the relative benfits other than the weight saving. I'd really appreciate some views on this to help me choose quickly as I need to get a bike going before Summer comes .....

then there's the whole 'do I go black/orange, tapered head tube or classic' ....................but I'll leave that for another day

cheers

nobody uses 3x9 any more, have you not been on this forum for the last year!

Jokes aside there are benefits, it's really how you use gears (changing the rear regularly but the front rarely), aand it looks cleaner/better, there are other supposed benefits but not particularly relevant to you on a hard tail.
