But is it worth it??
I'd like to go carbon with my hardtail and road bikes.
At present I have my Cannondale M600 which is used primarily for towing the trailer for the shopping and my 2 road bikes ( a scandium Ribble and a Spesh Allez) which I use for fitness and some commuting.
I think if I upgraded the M600 to the likes of an Giant XTC advanced I'd use the hardtail more for events/races and save the wear on my Golden Willow. As far as the road bikes are concerned I just fancy a change to be honest. I fancy the Giant Defy Advanced.
What in your opinion are these bikes worth? I've looked on eBay to get a feel for the prices but they do vary quite a bit.

Pace forks, XT (bar the crankset) Easton and Xlite. In fantastic condition especially considering it's age.

Campag mirage, Sintema force one fork,ITM elsewhere and Campag proton wheels. Excellent condition

Campag mirage again, ITM bits and carbon forks. Mint condition.
I've threatened to sell these bikes in the past but always ended up thinking that they worth more to me holding on to however I'd love to be proved wrong.
I think the Hardtail will happen this time. just not sure about the road bikes to be honest. Hmmm?
Well, there's worse dilemmas to have I s'pose 😀

Block paving could do with a power-wash

Would you really want to put a trailer on a carbon bike?

For the £300 or so you would get for the 'dale I would just keep it and still buy the XTC.

Sell all three.

Buy the XTC.

Don't buy the Defy - buy an audax style road bike (with 'guards) and tow the trailer with that.

The trailer with the carbon was a concern I had to be honest. It was however suggested to me (by the dealer) that it would be OK??
If I thought I could get enough for the 2 road bikes then I possibly would think about keeping the 'Dale as a 'utility bike' (if the trailer/carbon thing was an issue)

I think I've got someone on the Spesh. Does £300 sound a fair price?
