Hi has anyone done this?
I'm assuming I need the hope bottom bracket tool?
Does it stop the Cannondale bottom bracket "click/creak"?
I have installed a pf46 hope BB in my Pivot MTB frame. You do need the tool for assembly and it will be useful to keep hold of the tool should you need to replace bearings.
Which Cannondale do you have ?
It's my wife's to be honest, Synapse hi mod red. It's only done 500 miles, Evans replaced the bob at 100 miles due to noise and it's doing it again know. Can't be bothered messing with another poor pressfit, so wondering if going hope will solve the issue?
is it a BB30 or a PF30? (they are different)
Is it BB30 or BB30a ?
If it's the latter Hope can't help as I have been in touch on the same issue .
Use this
And a 24mm spindle chainset of you choice . You still need bearings in the frame though .
Some advice here about using various compounds when fitting the bearings
How will I know if it's bb30 or bb30a ?
Owners manual should have the spec in. For instance manual for my trigger says its a pf46mm by 73mm 30mm axle
Last week i had a new bb30 fitted to my super six evo, it was clicking within 10 minutes and by the end of the first ride, it was creaking under load.
What options have I got, Evans just swapped like for like. I didn't realise they were quite so bad.
It's a bb30a. Peteimpreza what did hope say?
Found this link on the slowtwitch forum
BB30A uses a 42mm diameter bearing - Hope PF46 is 46mm diameter - it ain't gonna fit.
Looks like its loctite 609 as per the Cannondale instructions. I will try to get Evans to do the job as its only a new bike but I don't like my chances and if I do it my self I know it's done correctly.
