Hi chaps,
I'm putting some offset bushings onto my mojo, but I've got a rod through the shock bush for the rear. It's very tight against the bush, and I dont really want to brute force it.
The rod looks like the big rod in this:
Going through the rear of the shock.
Any help on removing it? Obviously I've got a bench vice, and a DU bush tool...
Cheers for the help
Ricks
If you want to keep the rod ,put a piece of old tube around it then try twisting the rod out with a pliers or a vice
Use the vice to support the shock eyelet and tap the "rod" out with a soft faced mallet.
It can't be that tight as the DU bush pivots around it.
Ah, but the rod doesn't pivot around the du bush. There are two alu top-hats that slide onto the rod, that pivot around the rod.
I've had the rod clamped in the vice, and tried to twist it out, but it wouldn't budge.

Although I dont have a soft jawed vice, mine is brutal.
Your picture doesn't show the type of reducer you have linked to up there ^^. ๐
Just clamp it in the vice and twist out.

The rod/tophats do not move. The DU pivots around them.
Mine is the pin and sleeve.
On the advice of Mr LoCo I put some rubber in my brutal vice jaws, and pressed the pin out slowly, then pushed it out fully with a 8mm socket.
Pressed the offset bushes in, installed a volume reducer and all looks good.
Will have to go for a spin to see if I notice the HA difference at all.
