[Closed] Removing headset spacers - guidance for a bimbo please!

Little experiment to see if this will stop the fork lifting too much.

So ... all you experts out there ... what do I do and in what order? In simple terms for a bimbo please!

undo stem bolts
undo and remove stem cap
lift stem
remove spacers
replace stem
put spacers on top
put stem cap on top
tighten stem cap bolt just enough to stop the headset knocking
line up stem
tighten stem bolts
test ride

Did I miss anything? I'm tired and ready for bed.

Onza is correct. Put the spacers back on the top. Only when you are sure you are happy with it should you cut the steerer tube down, that's usually an act of no return.

Just a wee update ...

Job done, bike tested and everything OK. ๐Ÿ˜€ Not cutting steerer.
