Depnds on which parts you are after, shifters in late Sept, some chainsets in Oct, others in Nov. Which bits do you need?

Would want cassette, rear mech, and r.h. shifter. Fancy giving 1x10 a go.

tis a bit crap really.

Would want cassette, rear mech, and r.h. shifter. Fancy giving 1x10 a go.

You will also need the crank and chain. So add £400 to what you thought you needed to spend if you want XTR.

Total cost of 1x10 in XT is £349 from CRC.
Works great though by the way.

My understanding is new cranks/font chainring are not required?

My understanding is the same as guitarhero - the chain is not sufficiently narrower than current 9sp to require different chainrings, so therefore no new chainset required.
