Anyone ridden it? What's the quickest/best way up to Red Pike with a bike? Ta.
Surely someone's done it? Looks ace.
Are you Mad?..If you really must do Red Pike, the best way up imho is via Scarth Gap, and then the carry up High Cragg,The Bridleway track summitt is pretty good all the way to Red Pike but the decent via Bleaberry tarn is all stone pitched rock, very steep and rubbish imho,If your not carefull its easy to get "lost" cough, and miss the summitt decending onto the awesome singletrack path towards Scale force,be warned it will be a bogfest after the recent rain though...enjoy ๐
seriously dont do it
you will hate yourself

That bad, eh? Looked ok to me, especially the red-coloured gully that starts the descent. Must admit I'm not the biggest fan of those man-made rock steps as per Dollywagon, but at least the Red Pike ones looked all uneven, and possibly a bit steeper and tighter. Hadn't thought about that Scale Force track - might investigate. Ta.
I thought some of it might be ok. I was going to say the best way might be up the way you're thinking of going down, get the pain out of the way sharpish rather than dragging it out over Scarth Gap.
But I'm sure on this rare occasion I'm wrong given the advice above!
Great Gable though.......
fair comment paul,Theres a bit more rideable climbing on scarth gap (just)although I dont think the red pike climb/Bridleway would be a quick/ easier way up its bad enough walking up or down it!!
