Think Im going to see my bro down at Chester Uni next weekend. Gonna take the bikes down there and go for a ride on Saturday.

Where is there reasonably closeish? probably looking for a trail centre for a quick blast round.

Been to Llangdegla and thought it was a bit shit, anywhere else in North Wales thats decent? or anywhere else for that matter?

You're not that from B-y-C for the Marin and Penmachno.

Have a look at http://www.ridetheclwyds.com/rideclwyds/index.asp - not a trail centre but there's plenty of good stuff in the Clywds.

^^^ What he said re ridetheclwyds.com.

I'm not a big fan of Llandegla (although I still go there!) and the rides around Moel Famau are just great if you like your natural trails. A GPS is beneficial, but not absolutely necessary.

Lord F - that Nannerch DH got closed IIRC, think it was the result of a local protest after walker got run down by a DH'er. I did hear rumours of another course nearby christened "son of scouse"

Clwyds if you want natural mountains.
Marin/Penmachno for a trail centre - 40-60 mins away.
Delamere if you want to play, get lost and have some laughs - 15 mins away. Altho a good local brain might help find the good stuff.

As Joe said above really. Round Ceiriog is good too. Drop us a line if you want a decent route map or gps file for the Clwyds. Might be out round there at the weekend if you fancy some company.

It will just be XC stuff I think, Marin/Penmachno sounds good at the moment.

Would like to go to Delamere but would probably spend the day riding jumps and pissing about and my brother would be left to ride on his own.

Clwyds are more fun and closer than Penmachno/Marin Trail IMHO

59 Times The Pain - is that the swedish band or a Husker Du reference per chance?

I'll have a look for some more info on the Clwyds since its been mentioned a few times.

I was also bored of seeing my own name as my username and I wanted to change it (my username, not my real name, although 59 times the pain would sound badass). At the time I was listening to New Day Rising by Husker Du and that song came on so I changed it too that. I should write short stories i think, but probably keep them to about 2 words (The & End) since that was a rather dull account of how I chose my username.

It doesnt have anything to do with the Swedish punk band of the same name.
