A mate is walking the 3 peaks tomorrow, and I'm going to pop up and say hello, so may as well do some riding too.
Can you recommend me a route as above around the Ribblehead Viaduct area.

Road to Twistleton, BW to Blea Moor, Craven Wold to Dentdale, road up to Dent Station, Monkey Beck, Pennine BW to Newby Head, 4km road back to Ribblehead.

The obvious one is this one, or a variation on it.
If you want to use CX, this one:
is mostly good fast going tracks and tarmac, and even the normally boggy bit across Horton Moor is bone dry.
Chris - the Coal Road from Dent on a warm day will get the sweat going on him... 😀

Had a great ride yesterday, hardly saw anyone all way round, and most of it was completely dry too.
Best bit of the ride was definitely the decent to Ribblehead, and the fact that a Hercules buzzed right over my head, low enough for me to feel turbulence and smell the engines, was an incredible site. Managed to get it on camera just before it disappeared doing a really tight turn at low level.
