My wife has just bought an Anthem X4, but prefers a woman specific saddle. This is something I have never shopped for before, so any recommendations from female riders would be much appreciaited.

Many thanks,

Dom.

My other half didn't believe me when I explained it was saddle shape that counted rather than big squidgy foam. I think she thought it was a wind up when I suggested she get measured for a Specialized BG saddle. However, she seems very happy in a 155 Jett.

Ms Spanner swears by the WTB Diva.

Were cheap at Merlin last year, even the Ti ones.

Charge do some nice saddles for not too much. I have the Spoon. They do one called the Ladle which is specific to women (it has pink bits)

Selle Italia Ldy Gel Flow is good but need to get the right width. Worth popping down to Evans to sit on one of those gel measuring things (by Bontrager I think) to measure sit bones.

Mrs PP doesn't complain about saddles too much, but she does like her Spesh ones, if only to go sit on the arse-o-meter to get the right size.....!
She wasn't too happy with her Charge Ladle though....we sold that on

I've got a Specialized BG Ariel 155 on my Stumpy, no complaints here.

A vote for Specializeds arse measurements services 😉 we took advantage of the service to final get a saddle my g/f was happy to use (after wasting £25 on a WTB one she hated). Guy in the shop was helpfully initally lurid (hands out, "come to poppa" style) but then totally professional and explained the thought behind the system (Hip bone distances) & G/f is much happier now (with the seat).

T'other half seems quite happy with her Spesh BG. No complaints at all. I've got to fit BG grips tonight for her, to match 😀

Is there a crap item of BG equipment? Everything I've used has been great!

Mrs NBT didn't like her charge ladle, it was snapped up by her friend who loves it though so horses for course. She now has specialized Windie XC 143 saddles on both bikes

I prefer a minimalist one - Selle Italia SLK Ladies.

Another no for the Charge ladle from me..........I can't see how it is womens secific really as there is no groove for your delicate tissues!!!

Spesh Jett good because of the width sizes and a also a couple of friends have the Selle Italia and they love them too. ist a personal thing for sure!

I use Cannondale one that I found in the bargain bin of my local shop. It's a Raven. Have used SDG ones which are comfy for a while, then I was getting a numb bum after a couple of hours.

Got the wife measured at Evans and came away with a Spech Windie 155. Fitted it to the Anthem and went for a ride. All good so far. Thanks again for everyone's help.

Kind regards,

Dom
