Looking for something that I can put some tarmac miles in on. Not a drop bar bar as they don't agree with me. Am looking at things like the spesh sirrus and kona dew, not too taken with the trek soho. Anything else I should be considering? Quite happy to get a sale bike or 2nd hand as I don't want to spend loads on it.

Take a look at the Boardman ones in Halfords. They are excellent value and you can still pick up last years models at a discount too.

I've got a Spesh Sirrus which I think is great. Genesis and Ridgeback (same company) do some god flat bar road bikes too.
