Use a middleburn with front middle ring, now sans front mech so need something to keep chain on. Going on an Ellsworth in case that's relevant.

Thanks in advance.

http://singletrackworld.com/forum/topic/using-a-bash-and-a-n-gear-jump-stop-to-keep-the-chain-on-my-one-ring

FWIW in the end I went for 2 of these (an inner and an outer).

lower bearing in the jockey wheel of those plasma's is awful, mine lasted about two weeks.

Freehucker if you can still get one. No moving parts to wear out and seems to work perfectly. Similar to using a bash and a jump stop.

DMR Viral.

Been running one for a year. Top and bottom mounts. Quiet and low maintenance.

DMR Viral shares most of its bits with the Superstar incidentally, just has the 2-part backplate and a spicier pricetag.

Do you want top and bottom, or just top?

Simple, cheap, quiet unless your just having 1/9 1/10 then top and bottom is needed and for experience of those i cannot help you

Some folks seem to be recommending under-guides only, like the Bionicon and Stinger... Both good, but OP's ditched his mech so presumably is single ring. Top guide alone might do it, especially with a clutchy mech but bottom guide alone won't.

Maybe cheap compared to e13 and the likes, but when you actually look at it for what it is, you can't as that 35 quid is cheap for a bit of tube and a wee ally carrier.

I've got a stinger on a 2x9 set up, I think I'll give it a go on a 1x9, as Jedi seems to think it works, and he chucks his bike about a wee bit more than I do!.

top guide=old FD + stinger about a s cheapand simple as you can get?
top on its own will allow the chain to fall off the bottom quite easily IMO, bit like it can running a FD.
