Preferably somewhere in the middle of the 2. Can't seem to find anywhere!

That would be the Peak then, noted for its wooded singletrack.

There isn't one. Best bet is to take Jacobs ladder from hayfield or tpt from hadfield and Then cut gate (assuming dry weather)

I thought someone would say something about the peaks - which is where I normally ride, just looking for something different this weekend!
There must be something around

Hmmm.....had a look at Wharncliffe, looks pretty good - was ideally looking for something bit nearer to Manchester (otherwise I'll have to get upearlier to get there!)

Macc forest? Never been but it's a forest and it's nearer to Manchester?

thought you meant all the way - Manchester to Sheffield on single track
and with forest - sounds positively not windswept rocky / peaty / red socked
can't think of anything other than ladybower loops

lol - not sure I'd get very far to sheffield! (although i wonder how far it actually is?)

Looking for something along the lines of Wharncliffe (I think - i've not actually ridden it)

Pieface - luckly I ride the peaks a fair bit, so the Irony wasn't wasted on me ๐Ÿ˜† (or I would of probably gone, and then come back to say I couldn't find any woody singletrack - where exactly is it)

I fancy Guisburn, but a bit far North for Sat, as my mate I'm riding with lives Sheffield way and I'm over in Chester - Hence the peaks is kind of in the middle.

Wharncliffe is good if you know your way around but if you want somewhere you cam just turn up and ride with little knowledge then you may be better going elsewhere imo

Sherwood pines may be worth a look, otherwise calder valley but again local knowledge applies with caler valley

No singletrack on the Macc Forest circuit - its a pleasant run through the woods. Permisive bridleway through gradbach is also enjoyable - definately not singletrack though. Runs from Swathamley Hall through the woods to Gradbach. The upper permisive bridleway running east from Wooler Knoll in the woods south of Ladybower is probably the closest thing to wooded singletrack in the Peak but its stretching the definition to include it.

If you're looking for somewhere different go to the SW Peak around Macc Forest / Wildboar clough. Check out www.bikemaps.co.uk for route guides as non of the 'proper' guide books manage to get the best out of the area.

There's a video of one of the rides from the Gradbach map on youtube - link from the links page on bikemaps. A bit cheesey but shows the riding off, including one of the less visited bits of moorland singletrack in the Peak.
